Voytech “Floyd” Pitel

Pitel- Peacefully at the C.E.E. Hospital, Petrolia on Sunday March 11, 2018. Voytech “Floyd” Martin Pitel, age 83 years of Corunna. Beloved husband of 57 years to Elaine. Loving father of Kevin Pitel and his wife Debb of Rutherford and Lisa Killah and her husband Troy of Ottawa. Treasured grandfather of Michael, Tanner (Hannah) and Conner. Floyd is also survived by his sisters, Helen Misek of Sarnia, Mary Corbett and Margaret Bryce both of London. He was predeceased by; his daughter, Janice Pitel (1986); his son, Bradley Pitel (1998); his grandson, Tyler Pitel (2001); his parents, Yoytech and Ludvena Pitel and by his brother, Louis Pitel (2003). Floyd was a 52 year member of Local #700 of the Ironworkers and spent more than half of his career working for Gruening Steel. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Thursday March 15, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday with Rev. Deanna Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Sutherland Cemetery, Courtright. As expressions of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Corunna United Church or to Watford Quality Care Nursing Home.
