Zwaan(Vanderwerff)-Wimke “Wendy”(Luik).Words cannot express our sadness on the passing of our beloved mother Wendy Zwaan. Wendy passed away peacefully at home into the arms of the Lord with all her children by her side on Tuesday October 20, 2009 in her 78th year. She was predeceased by her husband’s, Sint Vanderwerff (1966) and Willem Zwaan (1991). She was lovingly known as “Moeke” to all her children. Dear mother of Nancy Parker and her partner Tony McGoldrick of Sarnia, Flo Zink and her husband Dave of Corunna and Art Vanderwerff and his wife Heather of Corunna. Step-Mother of Jitske, Trea and their families of Holland. Cherished grandmother and great-grandmother (Beppe) to several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Remembered by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and their families in Holland. Predeceased by her parents Harm and Nanke Luik, three brothers and one sister. Moeke was a longtime dedicated member of Living Hope Christian Reformed Church of Sarnia and the Tuesday morning Ladies Auxiliary, she loved to ride her bicycle, was an avid knitter and loved to crochet. The time and love that went into each blanket, baby outfit, socks and especially slippers was heartwarming. Moeke was known for her gentle kindness and goodness by all that knew her. A private family celebration of Moeke’s life has taken place with Pastor Craig Hoekema of Living Hope Christian Reformed Church officiating. Mom has been laid to rest beside her husband Sint Vanderwerff, at the Moore Union Cemetery, Mooretown, ON. As expressions of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one’s choice.
